Product Launch Masterclass

First update:

Day 2

Affiliate tools page.

iWriter – one of the cheapest places I’ve found for articles.

Instructions I use:

Friendly, informative article for article directory – as though you were explaining something to a friend.

I’m happy if the article is several bullet pointed tips – that usually works well.

Please make sure your work is split into paragraphs, not just one long article.

Please include the keyword in the first paragraph.

Please don’t over-do the keyword density – just write naturally.

Day 3: no progress

Day 4: tweaking iWriter articles, ready to upload to affiliate page

I tend to use the $3 iWriter articles as “first draft” and then spend a few minutes tweaking them so they’re decent quality. My acceptance rate is about 74% as I’m happy to be the final editor.

The editing only takes a few minutes – about 5 minutes if I’m talking you through it as I do on these videos, about half that if I’m not running a commentary.

I originally thought I’d only show you the first 2 or 3 but I actually recorded all 5. You don’t need to watch all these videos but they’re there for completeness and you can follow the thought process.

Day 5: no progress

Day 6: finishing the sales letter, submitting to Clickbank

While I’m waiting for Clickbank approval – which they say could take between 3 & 5 days – the next steps are to improve the affiliates page and change the main sales page to static HTML so I can make it look nicer.

There won’t be an update tomorrow (Tuesday) but there should be one on Wednesday.

Day 7: actually, just a very short update.

Clickbank have got back to me and asked me to put some text at the end of the pitch (sales) page and download page, put the price on the sales page & add a contact option to the sales page.

I’ve done those updates and let them know,

Day 8: another short update

Clickbank have approved my product. I now have to add it to
the marketplace after I’ve paid the activation fee.

From memory, since I’m already a Clickbank vendor, I qualify
for a lower activation fee. I’ve sent a message to their support
to get the link.

Sunday: I’ve made a sale!

Or, more correctly, an affiliate has made a sale!

I’ve also made some adjustments to the sales page, added Statcounter (because the sales page is no longer a Wordpress page) and some affiliates have created pages and videos.

From the 307 possible products that show in the Clickbank marketplace for a “law of attraction” search, I’ve got 134 with either email or contact form details.

Monday 26th August: affiliates page improved

I’ve added various things to the affiliates page including a screen shot of the download page so they can do a “walk through” video behind the scenes.

Due to the time difference and the fact that today is Monday, I’m probably going to wait until either tonight (UK time) or tomorrow before starting to contact Clickbank vendors with a view to them promoting me.

Tuesday 27th August: started contacting potential affiliates

I’m starting to contact the Clickbank vendors I found asking them if they’d like to promote.

The video shows me writing the contact email & contacting the first few on my list of vendors with a contact form. Email contacts will follow.

Thursday 29th August: emailed more potential affiliates

Update on those potential affiliates I’ve contacted so far.

Monday 9th September:

Nothing much to report at the moment.

I had a few “thanks but no thanks” messages from the Clickbank vendors, one very impolite reply and one that has asked me to write a pre-sell for them (which I’ve yet to do). Most haven’t replied at all.

I’m away a lot this week but will put my thinking cap on.

At the moment, my thoughts are that I need to find different potential affiliates to recruit.

I started with Clickbank vendors – they’re the “low hanging fruit” and are often suggested as an easy way to get affiliates on board.

The next place I’ll look is for Clickbank affiliates – ones who are selling similar products but don’t have their own product. With luck, they’ll be more receptive.

This used to be easy – search for the hoplinks. Now more affiliates are using the built-in hoplink disguising in Clickbank and fewer will be using the old fashioned methods. This doesn’t stop hops & sales being stolen, it just makes it slightly more difficult for anyone who does it (they have to search the Clickbank marketplace rather than swap out their ID). But it does mean that finding affiliates is less easy!

I’ll also work out some extra things to add to the affiliates page and probably upload a YouTube video or two myself, likely using one of my pen names.

Sunday 20th October:

This has been quiet for too long and it’s bugging me!

I’ve ordered a press release on
