Product Launch Masterclass

First update:

Day 2

Affiliate tools page.

iWriter – one of the cheapest places I’ve found for articles.

Instructions I use:

Friendly, informative article for article directory – as though you were explaining something to a friend.

I’m happy if the article is several bullet pointed tips – that usually works well.

Please make sure your work is split into paragraphs, not just one long article.

Please include the keyword in the first paragraph.

Please don’t over-do the keyword density – just write naturally.

Day 3: no progress

Day 4: tweaking iWriter articles, ready to upload to affiliate page

I tend to use the $3 iWriter articles as “first draft” and then spend a few minutes tweaking them so they’re decent quality. My acceptance rate is about 74% as I’m happy to be the final editor.

The editing only takes a few minutes – about 5 minutes if I’m talking you through it as I do on these videos, about half that if I’m not running a commentary.

I originally thought I’d only show you the first 2 or 3 but I actually recorded all 5. You don’t need to watch all these videos but they’re there for completeness and you can follow the thought process.

Day 5: no progress

Day 6: finishing the sales letter, submitting to Clickbank

While I’m waiting for Clickbank approval – which they say could take between 3 & 5 days – the next steps are to improve the affiliates page and change the main sales page to static HTML so I can make it look nicer.

There won’t be an update tomorrow (Tuesday) but there should be one on Wednesday.

Day 7: actually, just a very short update.

Clickbank have got back to me and asked me to put some text at the end of the pitch (sales) page and download page, put the price on the sales page & add a contact option to the sales page.

I’ve done those updates and let them know,

Day 8: another short update

Clickbank have approved my product. I now have to add it to
the marketplace after I’ve paid the activation fee.

From memory, since I’m already a Clickbank vendor, I qualify
for a lower activation fee. I’ve sent a message to their support
to get the link.

Sunday: I’ve made a sale!

Or, more correctly, an affiliate has made a sale!

I’ve also made some adjustments to the sales page, added Statcounter (because the sales page is no longer a Wordpress page) and some affiliates have created pages and videos.

From the 307 possible products that show in the Clickbank marketplace for a “law of attraction” search, I’ve got 134 with either email or contact form details.

Monday 26th August: affiliates page improved

I’ve added various things to the affiliates page including a screen shot of the download page so they can do a “walk through” video behind the scenes.

Due to the time difference and the fact that today is Monday, I’m probably going to wait until either tonight (UK time) or tomorrow before starting to contact Clickbank vendors with a view to them promoting me.

Tuesday 27th August: started contacting potential affiliates

I’m starting to contact the Clickbank vendors I found asking them if they’d like to promote.

The video shows me writing the contact email & contacting the first few on my list of vendors with a contact form. Email contacts will follow.

Thursday 29th August: emailed more potential affiliates

Update on those potential affiliates I’ve contacted so far.

Monday 9th September:

Nothing much to report at the moment.

I had a few “thanks but no thanks” messages from the Clickbank vendors, one very impolite reply and one that has asked me to write a pre-sell for them (which I’ve yet to do). Most haven’t replied at all.

I’m away a lot this week but will put my thinking cap on.

At the moment, my thoughts are that I need to find different potential affiliates to recruit.

I started with Clickbank vendors – they’re the “low hanging fruit” and are often suggested as an easy way to get affiliates on board.

The next place I’ll look is for Clickbank affiliates – ones who are selling similar products but don’t have their own product. With luck, they’ll be more receptive.

This used to be easy – search for the hoplinks. Now more affiliates are using the built-in hoplink disguising in Clickbank and fewer will be using the old fashioned methods. This doesn’t stop hops & sales being stolen, it just makes it slightly more difficult for anyone who does it (they have to search the Clickbank marketplace rather than swap out their ID). But it does mean that finding affiliates is less easy!

I’ll also work out some extra things to add to the affiliates page and probably upload a YouTube video or two myself, likely using one of my pen names.

Sunday 20th October:

This has been quiet for too long and it’s bugging me!

I’ve ordered a press release on Fiverr – not sure what the quality will be like but they’ve got over 2,000 orders so I’m hoping it will be OK. I’ve also ordered the $5 upgrade for submission to PRBuzz.

I’m aiming to get more traffic to the site generally as that should create some orders and give me stats on how the sales letter converts which, in turn, will help me promote it to potential affiliates.

The press release is the first of these tactics

I’ve also ordered a video. I was originally thinking it would be a whiteboard style video but having browsed Fiverr I’ve sent the 120 words below forthis gig instead. It will take about a week to get delivered but should be interesting!

Video wording:

Hello my friends, I’m Professor Hans Von Puppet.

I’d like to talk to you about using the law of attraction to bring wealth, health and happiness into your life. Just by thinking about what you really want to happen!

It’s actually working for you right now but maybe not how you want it to.

If you’re not surrounded by everything you want, you need to examine the law of attraction and how it can help you to improve everything from your relationships to your health and even how wealthy you are.

Check out the site in the link below this video:

InstantLawOfAttractionSuccess.com

I’ll let you know when it’s been created.

Tuesday 22nd October

The press release has been written: pressrelease-document

I’ve approved it with one word changed (barely to rarely in the second paragraph). It’s not likely to reach a printed publication but that’s not the point of this kind of release. It’s mainly for backlinks.

And I’ve paid more money (typically around $20) for ones that aren’t much different in quality. If I’d had something more newsworthy than “I’ve launched a Clickbank product” then I’d have used the GetArticlesDone service instead.

The Fiverr person will now submit it to PRBuzz.

Sunday 27th October

The PRBuzz press release has been written and submitted to PRBuzz here.

It looks like it’s just going to appear on that site so I’ve just bought another Fiverr gig that will send it to 50 more sites and will include a link to the video as well.

I’ve had the puppet video from Fiverr back as well – it’s uploaded under one of my pen names here.

Wednesday 30th October

The press release has been submitted elsewhere using the Fiverr gig I mentioned on Sunday. It’s been submitted to 61 places although there appear to be a few duplicate sites as you can see from the file they sent: 50 press releases

But not bad for $5. Time will tell if it helps with ranking or video views – the releases include a link to the puppet video I had done. At the moment, Google is showing 118 instances when I search for the title in quote marks so that tells me it’s been indexed and most likely found its way onto other news sites

I’m still scratching my head on getting affiliates but one of the things is to promote the site more so that it crops up in law of attraction searches and then they’ll find the affiliate link.

So, next on the list of things is to promote the site the site more.

A WSO called 15 Minute Traffic Siphon caught my eye. I’ve had chance to read it and essentially it’s a neat twist on the idea of guest posting (something I’ve always fought shy of) but with the emphasis on getting real clicks rather than ones that may or may not arrive once the guest posts eventually pass on their link juice.

It’s definitely a plausible method and, at the moment, it’s cheap to buy the WSO.

I’m going to be testing it over the next few days and will keep you posted on how I get on.

Thursday 7th November

The press release is now showing 226 instances in Google. Nowhere near as powerful as these were a few years back where 4,000 would have been “normal” but still OK.

I’ve dropped the price of the product in Clickbank to $19.95 to see whether that has any effect on sales or affiliates and have now had my second sale – woopee!

The puppet video is number 3 in YouTube for the phrase “instant law of attraction success” but nowhere for the phrase “law of attraction success”. I’ll send a few links (not views) to it – probably from an EzineArticles article.

I’ve had 5 articles written via iWriter using the ideas in 15 Minute Traffic Siphon. Two of these are waiting for approval/acceptance, the other three I’m keeping back until I see how the first two work.

In hindsight, I should have checked the requirements/style of the places I was looking to guest blog and specified each article accordingly but I can always do that next time.

Sunday 10th November

The press release is now showing 336 instances in Google.

Another affiliate sale today – that makes 3 sales, each from a different affiliate. It seems to take a day or so for the sales to get reflected in Clickbank’s gravity but this should help boost gravity a bit and hopefully start to attract a few more affiliates.

The 2 guest posting articles I’ve sent off are still waiting for acceptance. I’m in the process of investigating other ways to get guest posts (maybe I’m impatient) and will be submitting one or two via Fiverr – at least by paying $5 I know I’ll get posted! I’ll keep you up to date on this.

I’ve also put up a couple of projects on outsourcing sites: Microworkers and Rapidworkers.

These projects are for people to put up a short post about Instant Law of Attraction Success and link to it. I’m allowing them to use their own Clickbank hoplink as the link if they want to.

The Rapidworkers project was approved last night for 8 possible posts but only 1 has been made so far. I may cancel the remainder of the project there if it doesn’t get more response in the next day or so but so far it’s cost 60 cents plus the initial fee to Rapidworkers. It’s slow as I’ve restricted it to USA/UK/Canada/Australia and they don’t seem to have many people who meet that restriction.

The Microworkers project has only just been submitted for approval so won’t be live for a while (anything up to a day). It’s slightly more expensive as I’ve asked for a minimum of PR1 as well as workers who are in the USA/UK/Canada/Australia/New Zealand: it will be $1 per completed post plus the admin fee to Microworkers. Their minimum purchase is for 30 people to do the job (although I can end the project earlier than that).

If either of these works OK and – ideally – gets affiliate links/sales then I’ll run the campaigns for longer.

Friday 22nd November

The press release is now showing 6,820 results for the title (in quotes) so it’s got indexed – it’s just taken longer than it did a few years ago.

The 2 guest posting articles I’ve sent off are still waiting for acceptance. If they’re not accepted soon, I’ll delete the one in SelfGrowth and use it elsewhere and will just assume the other site isn’t going to use the one I sent them and use that elsewhere as well. Over 3 weeks is boring and non-productive unless they get lots of traffic if they finally get posted.

I’ve submitted one guest post via Fiverr and will do a few more soon. The ones I’ve done so far have mainly been to my own site and they’re getting indexed in a day or two but not sending any traffic directly. So the effect will probably just be on SEO which is fine by me.

Rapidworkers don’t appear to have enough workers to make using them worthwhile. I only got a couple of links from them.

Microworkers has been slightly better: 8 links completed out of the 30 I asked for (that’s after I reposted it to allow most of the world to bid, it was only 1 on the original project) but it’s been silent for the last week, so I’ve closed that project. 5 of the 8 are currently indexed by Google plus a couple of the ones I rejected – the number of workers there who don’t read the instructions is high. “No blogger, blogspot or forums” didn’t stop them submitting those.

No further sales to report at the moment. I’m getting between 3 and 12 “hops” per day. I expect December to be a quiet month anyway but will be doing some more work to get reasonably placed for the January boost in the self help sector.

Sunday 24th November

I sent SelfGrowth an email and they have now published the guest post (article) here.

It’s been indexed in Google but – having seen the page – unless it starts sending direct traffic I’m not likely to submit another article there in a hurry.

I’m OK with the adverts being on the page. It’s the links inside the post that I don’t like – lots and lots of them, leading off elsewhere in the SelfGrowth site. I’ve just run a checker and it reports:

  • Total Links: 192
  • Internal Links: 184
  • Out-Going Links: 8
  • No-Follows: 10

I did the same check on a recent EzineArticles article and got these figures:

  • Total Links: 95
  • Internal Links: 84
  • Out-Going Links: 11
  • No-Follows: 21

And on one of the Fiverr guest posts:

  • Total Links: 40
  • Internal Links: 34
  • Out-Going Links: 6
  • No-Follows: 3

Any questions, drop me an email.
